INDUSTRIES
Privileged access for federal, state, and defense industrial base.
Mission systems, classified enclaves, and contractor environments need privileged access controls that satisfy NIST 800-53, CMMC 2.0, and the realities of air-gapped or high-side networks. 12Port deploys agentless on-prem, in your cloud account, or in isolated networks.
Why this industry
Controls that map directly to NIST and CMMC.
AC, AU, IA, and SC control families ask the same questions: who had privileged access, when did they use it, what did they do, and is the evidence tamper-evident? 12Port produces that evidence continuously instead of forcing manual log review.
Use cases
Where 12Port shows up.
Air-gapped + high-side environments
Brokered access for operators in classified enclaves. No outbound dependencies, no agents on endpoints. Fully self-hosted on the high side.
Defense industrial base + CUI
CMMC 2.0 Level 2 practices for access control, audit, and identification. Protect CUI across primes and subcontractors with one control plane.
Federal civilian + state agencies
NIST 800-53 Rev 5 control coverage for AC, AU, IA, and SC. Deploy in FedRAMP-aligned environments without agents on every endpoint.
Critical infrastructure and election systems
Vendor and operator access to SCADA, voting infrastructure, and emergency services systems. Recorded, attributed, and tamper-evident from day one.

Encryption
FIPS 140-3 validated encryption.
Every secret 12Port stores is encrypted by a FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic module. 12Port uses AES with PBKDF2 key derivation and SHA-512 HMAC, implemented through the Bouncy Castle FIPS Java API, validated under the NIST Cryptographic Module Validation Program (certificate #4943). 12Port as a product is not separately FIPS 140 certified, which is a distinct validation program, but the module doing the encryption is.
